NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week were mixed, higher in Kansas,
but lower in Nebraska and Texas: KS 68,795(+3,475), NE 43,923(-4,055), TX
55,318(-4,123). Total trade volume also mixed higher in Kansas, but lower in
Nebraska and Texas: KS 76,378(+3,163), NE 66,620(-1,144), TX 59,008(-2,912).
New showlists appear to be lower in all three major feeding areas. Bids and
asking prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will
likely be delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 388.96 +1.18, Select 388.31 +2.12),
with very light box movement (20.32 lds of choice cuts, 4.20 lds of select
cuts, 4.84 lds of trim, and 3.44 lds of ground). Live cattle futures are
moderately to sharply higher, while feeder issues are mostly sharply higher.
