NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week were mixed, higher in Nebraska,
but lower in Kansas and Texas: KS 60,684(-8,111), NE 44,592(+669), TX
65,613(-10,295). Total trade volume was also mixed, higher in Texas, but
lower in Kansas and Nebraska: KS 62,737(-13,641), NE 55,463(-11,157), TX
69,502 (+10,494). New showlists appear to be to be slightly higher in
Nebraska/Colorado, and higher in Kansas and Texas. Bids and asking prices
have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will likely be
delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 381.97 +1.07, Select 384.51 +3.17),
with very light box movement (18.58 lds of choice cuts, 3.80 lds of select
cuts, 5.00 lds of trim, and 4.09 lds of ground). At the top of the noon hour
live futures are mixed, but feeder issues are mostly sharply higher.
